How does Hammer-It charge for its service?
Hammer-It do not charge an upfront fee for listing an item*.
Our fee is based on a commission rate of 35% of the final sales price inclusive of VAT.
We pay all the associated fees on your behalf including listing fees, photography fees, final value fees and credit card fees.
There are no hidden costs or minimum values. Whatever figure your item achieves you will receive 65% of the final sales price.
Our experienced team will decide on the best auction format to achieve you the best possible price.
*There is no upfront fee unless you place a reserve price on an item. There is a £5 refundable fee for a reserve upto £99.99 and a £10 fee for items with a reserve over £100. The reserve fee is refunded if the item sells.
How do you decide on a price to start the auction?
We generally start auctions at 99 pence to attract interest and early bidding.
Although we dont expect the item to sell at this price we are legally obliged to sell the item at the highest bid received.
For higher value items we recommend setting a reserve price.
What happens to the items I leave with Hammer-It?
We provide a receipt.
Payment is sent via cheque complete with a detailed statement of all the items sold.
Payment may be delayed due to a variety of reasons but primarily when an item goes unpaid and the item needs relisting.
The estimated turnaround time for an item is 4-5 weeks.

ship worldwide using a number of delivery services. Our competitive
contracts help to keep postage prices lower for the buyers giving us an
advantage over individual sellers.
What happens to items that dont sell?
In the unlikely event that an item does not sell the owner is obliged to collect the item within 2 weeks.
We are happy to pass on unsold items to a charity of your choice.
How do I get my items to Hammer-It?
Hammer-it are happy to provide a free home collection service at a time convenient for you.
We can collect from your home, work or storage facilities.
Assuming the goods you wish to sell have an expected value of £200+ then we will not charge a call out fee like many of our rivals.
The free home collection only applies to locations within a 20 mile radius of N3.

We can arrange for Citylink to collect from your home. Total weight must not exceed 30kg. This service is ideal for smaller items.
